Pinacoteca Agnelli
SEPTEMBER 27, 2024 – SEPTEMBER 29, 2024
Following its unveiling at Italian Tech Week, The Tree of Knowledge was exhibited at Pinacoteca Agnelli, housed atop the iconic Lingotto building in Turin. Positioned within a contemporary art context known for bridging the historic and the digital, the sculpture’s presence added a living, data-driven dimension to the museum’s evolving program.
Installed on the iconic rooftop test track overlooking the city, the piece stood as a glowing monolith amidst the industrial architecture—its four screens continuously shifting based on live global data feeds. Visitors could interact with the sculpture by toggling between “Signal” and “Noise,” witnessing the contrast between structured information and chaotic distortion. The “choose violence” function, visible but limited in use, served as a looming reminder of the destructive potential encoded in our collective choices.
This presentation marked the first time The Tree of Knowledge was made available for sustained public viewing in an institutional setting. The piece connected the past, present, and future of technology and art—set against the historical backdrop of the former Fiat factory, once a symbol of industrial progress, now re-imagined as a platform for digital transformation.
The installation at Pinacoteca Agnelli further underscored the work’s larger mission: not just to reflect the world’s complexity in real time, but to spark dialogue about our role within it.
