Diffuse Control is an interactive kinetic sculpture that explores mass collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence. The work transforms visual input from artists, curators, and the public into continuously evolving AI-generated abstractions.
The system unfolds through live participation. Contributors introduce and remix imagery in real time via an online interface, steering the behavior of the underlying AI. Each interaction leaves a trace shaping not only the immediate visual output, but also influencing how the system responds in future moments. Participation becomes authorship, and the artwork grows through collective intent.
Displayed across twelve synchronized video screens, Diffuse Control is never static. Visual compositions constantly reorganize, producing unique configurations and one-of-a-kind prints generated directly from the installation. The work exists as both a physical presence and an active computational process, bridging screen-based media with embodied experience.
Rather than presenting a finished object, Diffuse Control operates as a living system in perpetual flux, a negotiation between human decision-making and machine interpretation. By dissolving traditional boundaries between artist, curator, and audience, the installation invites viewers to reconsider creativity, control, and authorship in an era where intelligence is distributed across people and algorithms alike.
