ART BASEL MIAMI

DECEMBER 3, 2025 – DECEMBER 6, 2025

Regular Animals is a robotic portrait series that reimagines the traditions of pop art, sculpture, and generative media through the lens of emerging technology. Debuting at Art Basel Miami 2025, the work transforms iconic cultural figures into autonomous quadruped sculptures whose memories, movements, and outputs form a living archive of machine-mediated perception.

Each creature operates as its own evolving system—capturing images, mapping its surroundings, and converting those experiences into prints and NFTs that document its life. Their silicone faces, robotics, and onboard computer vision merge the digital and physical, blurring where portraiture ends and machine agency begins. Unlike static depictions, these humanoid animals continuously reinterpret the world through their sensors, generating an ever-expanding dataset that will outlive the machines themselves.

Displayed together as a synchronized pack, Regular Animals becomes a meditation on authorship, identity, and autonomy in an age of accelerating AI. The works embody a relationship in flux: we design and direct them today, yet their accumulating memories and behaviors point toward a future where the boundaries of control may shift.

Instead of offering a fixed narrative, the installation presents a self-documenting ecosystem—one in which art, robotics, and blockchain co-create a record of our time. Regular Animals invites viewers to consider what happens when technology not only reflects humanity, but begins to develop its own evolving point of view.
