WAVE – ITALIAN TECH WEEK

Regular Animals arrives at Wave by Vento, formerly Italian Tech Week, at OGR TORINO (OFFICINE GRANDI RIPARAZIONI) in Turin. The unveiling takes place in a 19th-century railway repair facility transformed into a venue for technology and culture. The robotic portrait series reimagines the traditions of pop art, sculpture, and generative media through the lens of emerging technology. The work transforms iconic cultural figures into autonomous quadruped sculptures whose memories, movements, and outputs form a living archive of machine-mediated perception.

Each creature operates as its own evolving system, capturing images, mapping its surroundings, and converting those experiences into prints and NFTs that document its life. Their silicone faces, robotics, and onboard computer vision merge the digital and physical. Unlike static depictions, these humanoid animals continuously reinterpret the world through their sensors, generating an ever-expanding dataset that will outlive the machines themselves.

Displayed together as a synchronized pack, Regular Animals becomes a meditation on authorship, identity, and autonomy in an age of accelerating AI. The installation presents a self-documenting ecosystem in which art, robotics, and blockchain co-create a record of our time.
